About this work

Polychromed and rigged frame model of a Mediterranean chebec, incomplete. Pointed bow and falling, curved stempost, figurehead with a stempost in the shape of a curl. Sheer rising strongly aft, above the falling sternpost a transom with round bilges. The rudder extends up to the half-deck, over which the rudder post runs. Above the stern with windows lies an aft overhanging campaign deck with a quarterdeck with carving. The sides are decorated above the keelson with painted foliage. There is one continuous deck with twenty-six ports; aft is the cabin, the half-deck and the campaign deck. Forward is a forecastle and a bowsprit. Of the rigging only the mainmast and the mizzenmast are preserved: the foremast and the bowsprit are 20th-century additions.
