About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: a column with ship prows, Victory with trumpet and wreath standing on captured flags and an inscription on a pedestal, to which two prisoners are chained; in the background the burning of the French and Spanish fleets within an inscription. Reverse: a triumphal symbol consisting of ship prows, castles, and standards, above them a bundle of arrows and a standard with an eagle and rose connected by a Medusa shield; the symbol is carried by an English unicorn, a German eagle, and a Dutch lion within an inscription.
