About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: bust of a man within an inscription. Reverse: lion, draped with a bundle of arrows, stands before an altar upon which a Bible and a liberty cap lie, while it tramples shackles; around the altar lie merchant goods; above it a hand from the clouds offers the lion an orange branch; in the lion's right paw a lily-adorned arrow is stuck; in the background a ship within an inscription; lower section: inscription.
