Beginning of the Year 1764

Silver medal. Obverse: Peace, depicted as a woman with an olive branch in her hand, enveloped in clouds, lifts the winged hat from the head of Mercury, who rests his knee on a pile of goods, and points to the four winds blowing a stack of paper away within an inscription. Reverse: a man in Roman attire with a heart hanging from a ribbon around his neck and holding a scepter with a radiant eye on it, wrapped by a snake, leaning on a column whose base is decorated with an oak wreath; in the background, ships at sea and a rising sun within an inscription; truncation: inscription.
