Obverse: Dutch maiden, depicted as a helmeted woman with a liberty cap on a spear, placing a Bible on a pillar, to which hangs a scroll of paper with an inscription; with her foot she tramples the prostrate Violence with a burning torch and shield; in the background a view of the city of Groningen within an inscription; edge: inscription. Reverse: burning incense burner on a garlanded altar; in the background to the left ships at sea, to the right a ploughing farmer within an inscription; edge: inscription.
