Photographic Collection of Arthur François Emile van Schendel Jr.

The collection contains 142 photographs and nine photomechanical prints. It comprises photographic reproductions of paintings, frescoes, and mosaics from Italy, as well as six New Year's greetings with art reproductions addressed to Mr. Van Schendel jr. The collection also includes five postcards with photographic reproductions. The photographs were made by, among others, Fratelli Alinari, Romualdo Moscioni, and James Anderson. Most objects bear the stamp of Van Schendel ('AFE v S') on the verso. Many photographs bear the stamp of publisher H.J.W. Becht of Amsterdam on the verso.
