About this work

Photo album in dark blue linen binding. The album contains 30 pages with a total of 119 prints. The endpapers are also pasted with photos. Additionally, 13 loose photos belong to this series. The photographs were probably taken by the English photographer G. Hidderley during a trip with friends or family through the Netherlands. This resulted in a series of five photo albums. The present album contains photographs taken in North Holland, Volendam, Dordrecht, Gorinchem and Woudrichem: genre scenes, village, city, harbor and street views, as well as some portraits that fit into the pictorialist tradition.
