About this work

The Colonial School was an educational institution in The Hague where, between 1921 and 1949, women could attend a course designed to prepare them for a stay in what was then the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). It included cooking and sewing lessons, as well as instruction in dealing with service personnel.
