About this work
Photo album with 24 pages. The album contains a total of 37 photographs; 4 cabinet photographs and 33 cartes-de-visite, all portraits of sailors or men in maritime uniform. The album, titled The Seaside Album, has an autotype of ships on the title page. Also, most pages where a cabinet photograph can be placed have a border of an autotype of various images with a nautical theme. Not every page in the album is filled. At the back of the album is a music box which could be turned on or off by the metal fitting.
