About this work

Photo album with a total of 107 photographs on 32 pages. The album contains 29 cabinet photographs and 78 cartes-de-visite in passe-partouts framed with gold lines to frame chromolithographic images. It features portraits of unknown men, women, and children. Most photographs were made by Belgian photographers, including F. Meeus-Verbeke, Henri Blanckart, and Ghémar Frères. The photographer is unknown for 21 photographs, in some cases because the photograph could not be removed from the album to view the back.
