About this work

Photo album in blue linen binding with a coating. The album was re-bound in 1968, and the album leaves appear to have been trimmed at the edges. The album contains 48 leaves with 23 photographs of sights in Italy and Switzerland, mainly city and street views of Genoa and Milan, and mountain landscapes around Lucerne and Lugano. These are photographs from well-known studios of the time such as Noack, Brogi, Sommer, and the publisher Photochrom Zürich. The album also contains amateur photographs of landscapes, villages, and cities in Aceh and Sumatra in the Dutch East Indies, as well as studio portraits of the inhabitants.
