Album by a French amateur with photographs of France, Algeria, Palmyra, the World Exhibition of 1900 and of famous French people

Photo album in a black linen binding. The album was re-bound after purchase by collector L.J. Hartkamp. The endpapers are of green-gray paper, as are the 74 album leaves. These contain 193 photographs, which are inserted at the corners of the leaf. Part of the prints are provided with inscriptions and a manufacturer's name. The images were made by professionals and by one or more amateur photographers. Possibly some prints come from other albums, given the paper and glue residues on the back of the photographs. These include images of a French family, of the place Berrouaghia (Algeria), of sights in Rueil, Chambord, Blois, Nice, Dieppe, Barcelona, New York, Moscow, Palmyra (Syria), Baalbek and Interlaken and portraits of French politicians, singers, actors and artists. Also the Paris World Exhibition of 1900 is discussed.
