About this work
Photo album in black morocco leather binding. The endpapers have a marbled motif. The album contains 50 leaves with gold edges and 106 photographs, of which 2 are loose on cardboard. These are mainly city and street views and mountain landscapes in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium. All photographs have handwritten inscriptions, ranging from July 27 to September 1899. These are probably references to the date on which the unknown compiler of the album visited the respective places. Given the Dutch inscriptions and the place where the album was made (Brussels), this was probably a Flemish traveler.
