Photo album with views of sights in Georgia, St. Petersburg and Moscow

Photo album in reddish-brown binding with the word 'Album' and decorations in gold printing and relief on the front cover. The endpapers are made of blue-green paper. The album contains 100 leaves with a total of 78 photographs. The prints are attached to the leaves with colored paper strips, with the corners tucked behind. Originally, the album contained more photographs, as evidenced by the leaves with strips but no photos. The binding contains anonymous photographs of sights in St. Petersburg and Moscow, such as streets, gates, churches, and squares. A large part of the photographs was made by Dimitri Ivanovitch Ermakov (1846-1916), who, besides studio portraits, also made extensive photo reports of archaeological and topographical expeditions. Prints from one of these projects, the photographing of the military road through Georgia, are present in the album. It is not excluded that other photographs in the album were also made by him.
