About this work

Justice (Justitia) and Peace (Pax) sitting on a throne with their feet resting on a recumbent naked man. Above them Victory (Victoria) who wishes to crown them. In the foreground right Mars, sitting with his arms bound behind his back. In the foreground left Charity (Charitas) suckling a child. Next to her a child playing with a helmet. In the foreground a harness. In the margin below the subject an eight-line inscription in four columns in Latin.
