About this work
Father Time pushes aside a drapery and reveals the scene. History writes in a book. She is accompanied by putti with various attributes in their hands. The personified Truth, a radiant sun above her head, points her out in the background. There two persons, possibly Persians, walk with a dromedary and a black woman with an elephant. In the sky Fame flies blowing a trumpet, holding a laurel wreath in her hand.
