About this work

In the foreground Christ, riding on a triumphal chariot drawn by two lambs. He thrones on the world. In his left hand a cross with a banner. On the banner the instruments of his passion. Behind the triumphal chariot Christ has chained Death, Satan, Sin (Peccatum) and Lady World. In the background Christ's crucifixion, death on the cross and ascension are depicted. The print has a Latin text of six lines and is part of an eight-part series on the Triumph of Patience.
