About this work
A cleric kneels in prayer with the instruments of the Passion of Christ; a man next to him also kneels in prayer and tramples the devil. They turn to God who is enthroned in the sky and to the saints who can intercede. On seven shields the virtues are depicted that the meditation prescribes and which man must strive for during his life: faith, hope, love, justice, temperance, strength and prudence.
