About this work
Ceres, the goddess of agriculture, as the embodiment of the earth's abundance. On her head she wears a crown of ears of corn, in her arm she holds the horn of plenty and in her hand a sickle. Beside her stands her daughter Proserpina. In the corners of the frame two dragons and agricultural products are depicted.
