About this work

Ceres as the embodiment of the earth's abundance. On her head she wears a crown of ears of corn, in her arm she holds the cornucopia and in her hand a sickle. Beside her stands her daughter Proserpina. The upper corners of the frame are decorated with two dragons, the lower corners with agricultural products.
