About this work
Ceres, goddess of agriculture, as the embodiment of the abundance of the earth. She is adorned with a crown of ears of corn and holds the horn of plenty in her arm and a sickle in her hand. Next to her stands her daughter Proserpina. In the corners of the frame, two dragons and agricultural products are depicted.
