About this work
Allegory on the birth of Prince William III, 14 November 1650. Around the cradle with the child stand and kneel Minerva, Juno, Cupid and Flora. On the left, the peacocks of Juno. In the distance the Hofvijver and the buildings of the Binnenhof. In the sky, angels carry the coat of arms of Nassau and Fame, with an orange branch and trumpet, proclaims the news of the birth of the prince. At the bottom a four-line verse.
