About this work

Allegory on the Peace of Ryswick, 20 September 1697. Around the cradle of the child of peace holding a palm branch stand and kneel Minerva, Juno, Cupid and Abundance. On the left, the peacocks of Juno. In the distance the Huis te Nieuwburg (Ryswick) where the peace negotiations took place. In the sky, angels carry the coat of arms of the Swedish mediator Baron Lelienroot and Fame, with a palm branch and trumpet, proclaims the news of the peace. Details in the representation are numbered 1-13 but the explanation is missing.
