About this work
A vanitas representation in the form of a woman, draped in precious clothing, admiring herself in a hand mirror, with a puppy on her lap and a monkey at her feet. On the table beside her are jewelry and a board game. Through the window behind the lady, a putto climbs in with a scroll inscribed 'VANITAS VANITATUM, EST OMNIA VANITAS'. Below the scene are two lines of Latin text.
