About this work
Vanitas representation in the form of a woman, draped in costly clothing, admiring herself in a hand mirror, with a small dog on her lap, and a monkey at her feet. On the table next to her jewelry and a board game. Through the window behind the lady a putto climbs in with a scroll bearing the words 'VANITAS VANITATUM, EST OMNIA VANITAS'. Under the representation two lines of text in Latin.
