About this work

Central cartouche depicting domestic activities. In the foreground, wood is being brought in for the fireplace. An old man warms himself by a fire pot, while a youth stokes the fire with a bellows. A woman is engaged in needlework. In the background, several men play cards. In the corners outside the cartouche, four personifications of the winter season. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the four seasons.
