About this work

Two views on one plate. Top: The personification of the French Reformed Church, the Huguenots, is attacked by a wild man with a scourge. This takes place under approval by personifications of the French monarchy (Gallia) and the French Catholic Church. Below a narrow view of the persecution and expulsion of the Huguenots.
