About this work

The personification of early Christianity (with attributes of torture instruments and a Bible) in the foreground. She stands on the symbols of time (a winged hourglass) and of worldly power and wealth (a crowned globe with a money purse). Cherubs fly above her. To the right behind her the personification of late Christianity is crowned by the personification of the world.
