About this work
42 French men, who were in slavery in Tunis, were redeemed there by the Order of Trinitarians. Such enslaved people were known as 'Christian slaves'. In honor of their redemption, they are led through the city in a procession in Paris. In the caption the legend 1-9. Numbered top right: fol: 59.
