About this work
A crowned angel, the personification of heavenly love, tramples the blindfolded and bound Cupid. The angel dips his arrow into the wound in Christ's side. In the background, a crowd of believers looks up at the dove of the Holy Spirit and the monogram of Christ in the sky. In the margin, a six-line inscription, in three columns, in Latin.
