About this work
Winged radiant personification of Religion tramples Death in the form of a skeleton with a scythe and a bone in the grave. Religion leans on a wooden cross and holds an open book designated as the gospel of peace in one hand, reins in the other. Against a landscape ravaged by war. In the inscription, a dialogue in the form of question and answer between Man and Religion, in three columns in Dutch, Latin, and French.
