About this work
The Pope is flanked in the center above by the allegorical figures Religion and Ecclesiastical Power. Above him flies the Holy Spirit. To the left sits the king on a throne, beside him Divine Zeal, Concord, Justice, and Piety. The king banishes the allegorical figures Ignorance, Error, and Deception, with Jansenism in the center holding 'The Augustinus', preceded by Jansenists.
