About this work

The Pope in the middle above is flanked by the allegorical figures Religion and Ecclesiastical power. Above him flies the Holy Spirit. On the left sits the king on a throne with next to him Divine zeal, Concord, Justice and Piety. The king banishes the allegorical figures Ignorance, Misunderstanding and Deception, with Jansenism in the middle holding 'The Augustine', preceded by Jansenists.
