View of the Amsterdam Schouwburg inaugurated on 15 September 1774 on the Leidseplein. On the square various figures and carriages. On the left in the background the Leidsepoort. This city theatre was built to replace the theatre on the Keizersgracht which burned down in 1772 and burned down itself in 1890. Below the representation the title and a two-line verse in Dutch (left) and French (right).
