Judas Maccabeus orders a number of law-abiding priests to cleanse the sanctuary and remove the stones that have desecrated the altar to an unclean place. The desecrated altar of burnt offering is dismantled. Below the scene, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 1 Macc. 4.
