About this work
Judas Maccabeus orders a number of law-abiding priests to cleanse the sanctuary and remove the stones that have defiled the altar to an unclean place. The defiled altar of burnt offerings is dismantled. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 1 Maccabees 4:36. The print is part of an album.
