Scene from the eighteenth century: a man seated in a chair examines a painted hanging held up before him by the painter and his assistant. Part of a series of six scenes from moments in Dutch history presented as tableaux vivants by members of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam on 2 December 1864.
