About this work

Monument with the portrait of the preacher B.G. Haverkamp. The portrait is flanked by a skull and a Bible, on which a sleeping putto rests. He holds a extinguished torch and a paper with the date of death. Below it an inscription with his function, and the years in which he was active in his congregation. Next to the monument stand Faith, with cross and censer, and Religion. Father Time sits kneeling next to the monument, writing in a book. In the foreground a putto sits with books, a goblet wrapped by a snake, a burning lamp and a sheaf of corn. With accompanying text sheet with explanation.
