About this work

Hope (Spes) places a crown on the head of the bride (Sponsa). The bride rests her feet on a sword, a scourge and a trumpet. Science (Scientia), Faith (Fides) and other virtues look on. In the background, Hope, Faith and a third figure are seen ascending to Love. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
