About this work
In an inn two men sit with two women flirting at a round table. Meanwhile two other women rob the men. To the right a watching and laughing jester with a marotte who speaks the text at the bottom in the margin. On the wall hangs a print with the representation of a man, who hatches eggs, a crowing hen and a rooster with chicks. Under the print the proverb: It is a great vexation for the house // Where the hen crows and // [the rooster does not]. Warning for the power of the woman, who can cast the man into ruin.
