About this work

Allegorical figures at a grave monument decorated with skulls. In front of the monument sits Faith with a cross in her arms. A second veiled woman holds a scepter above which is the All-Seeing Eye. Mercury as god of trade stands by the coat of arms of Amsterdam and looks at a mourning veiled woman. In the air sits Venus on a shell. Print marked top center: I. Deel.
