About this work
In the Schepenzaal of the Town Hall on the Dam various figures are present, mainly men. The aldermen sit in the benches. Some figures are in conversation with each other and others seem to admire the interior. On the ceiling the family coats of arms of the first aldermen can be seen. Below the image the crowned coat of arms of Amsterdam, held by the Dutch lion.
