About this work

A boy sits on a wild horse, to the right lies the personification of Deceit - a woman with a mask - in ambush. Behind the horse a bearded man with a crown is burned in a pit. The boy chooses the right path and rides towards a meadow where figures play and to the right stands the Fountain of Youth. Below the image is a text in Latin, numbered in the left margin: 3. The print is part of a series of allegorical prints on the life of man.
