About this work
Julius Caesar rides a horse, holding a flag with the image of an eagle (Rome). The horse tramples King Cyrus of Persia, Ninus of Babylon, and Alexander the Great. In the background, a cityscape. Next to Julius Caesar, a many-horned monster emerges from the sea, a reference to Daniel's vision of the rise of four kingdoms in the world. Below the image, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Daniel 7. This print is part of an album.
