About this work

Alexander the Great rides a horse, holding a flag with the image of a mountain goat (Greece). The horse tramples King Cyrus of Persia and Ninus of Babylon. In the background, a cityscape. Next to Ninus, a four-headed winged leopard emerges from the sea, a reference to Daniel's vision of the rise of four kingdoms in the world. Below the image, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Daniel 7. This print is part of an album.
