Tomb monument for Ahasverus van den Berg

The grave monument of the preacher Ahasverus van den Berg with his portrait, framed with an ouroboros as a symbol for eternity. By the monument a mourning woman looks up to a female figure leaning on a bible on a pedestal and pointing with a hand to an open space between the clouds where light rays come out. On the grave monument lie an hourglass and a lyre and two books of the deceased preacher, Evangelical Songs from 1806 and Book of Psalms from 1774. Against the monument also stands a scythe and in the foreground two naked children play.
