About this work

The portrait bust of Karel van Mander is honoured by a trumpet-blowing putto with the symbol of eternity, a snake biting its own tail. Next to the foot where the image stands sits Father Time with a scythe. To the right Minerva points a putto to the bust of Van Mander.
