About this work
Before a throne under a canopy kneels the personification of the Empire before an altar. In her left hand she holds the coat of arms of the Habsburgs. Next to the throne the portraits of the emperors Leopold I, Joseph I, Charles VI and Charles VII. Below four river gods representing the Danube, the Moselle, the Neckar and the Rhine. To the right a panegyric in German and Latin with the obverse and reverse of a coin, possibly struck on the occasion of the election of Francis I Stephen as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
