Allegorical representation made on the occasion of the marriage of Gijsbert Antwerpen Verbrugge van Freyhoff and Maria Hooft, married in Amsterdam on 1 December 1741. Garden with a bride and groom, accompanied by the river gods of the Meuse and the IJ. The man hands his bride a ring. On the grass sit two putti with a sheet of paper on which the names of the couple. On a cloud Love (Caritas), with a laurel wreath to crown the couple, and a putto with a portrait medallion and a coat of arms. To the right two putti hanging a coat of arms on which the interwoven initials of the couple are attached to a tree. In the background a temple, where a putto flies in to light a flame on the altar.
