About this work

Minister Jan van Heemskerk Azn. is about to strike the head of the jack. On it are articles of law such as article 6 and 10 regarding freedom of religion and protection of personal data. He looks at the target at the top of the measuring rule, a dancing figure with a 'red flag'. Below the image a quote from the poem Medea by Jan Vos (ca. 1610-1667). This print was published by De Lantaarn.
